Ramadan 2008!!

Alhamdhulillah, just a day more to enjoy the blessings of the Holy month of Ramadan..

It was during this month that the Holy Quran was revealed by the Almighty Allah to our Prophet Muhammed (peace be upon him) in cave Hira. It is during this month that Muslims throughout the world fast during the day, remember the Almighty many times more than the other days and try to read the whole of Quran atleast once. It is during this month that we must give Zakat (mandatory charity) to the poor and needy.

As Muslims, we should always remember the Almighty Allah, the Supreme, the Exalted in every walk of our life. We must do all acts of worship for He created us and the Jinns only to worship Him alone. We should be kind to our parents, relatives, neighbours, poor and the needy and should never harm anyone. We should always speak the truth, be kind and genuine in our acts and never use any foul language. We should control our anger and forgive even those who harm us, for forgiveness is something that is very much desirable by the Almighty. While we may commit sins intentionally or unintentionally during the other days, every Muslim who fasts during the month of Ramadan to seek His blessings and forgiveness will be very careful not to commit any even by mistake. This prepares us to become better personality in the coming days and gives us an opportunity to progress.

This Ramadan 2008 is going to be very special for me, insha Allah, for I see myself having made a fair amount of progress as a Muslim by the mercy of the Most Merciful, the Most Kind, the Almighty Allah.

Ramadan Kareem to all!! 🙂

I am wondering about few words of ur last statement- “myself having made a fair amount of progress as a Muslim”…
i don’t know in what sense u made that statement but i am kind of taken aback by that…..

    Thank you, Sis.. 🙂

    Taken aback? :O
Why sis??? I’m talking about spiritual progress- becoming more conscious while praying, seeking more Islamic knowledge, and trying to become a better Muslim in the coming days.. Whats wrong with this?
